United States Ambassador to the Marshall Islands

This is a list of the ambassadors of the United States to the Marshall Islands. The Office of the U.S. Representative was opened at Majuro on October 21, 1986. It was upgraded to an Embassy on September 6, 1989. On Tuesday, May 15, 2012, the White House Press Office, in a list of nominations, announced that President Barack Obama had nominated Thomas Hart Armbruster, of New York, a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Counselor, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
